Such a tease...

Superherohype ran a story on 'The Dark Knight' which shows Heath Ledger in full make-up but you just can't see him. Hmm...

Documentary In Amber - For These Are Truly The Last Days (live)

This track can be found on their self-titled debut EP. Buy it here!!!

Thanks to Jacen and Simon for filming this. I love the little tags they add on at the end of the videos they've helped us out with.

I wanna upload Simon's band Zero Sequence. Very tight progressive rock sextet and of course, very over-the-top too! But they are sluts (and cameramen/ editors/ directors themselves) and have a gazillion YouTube videos online.

I've always loved the idea of Elephant 6 collective. Well, not like those guys on Aging Youth Records sound anything like a 60's, hippies re-hash. Hmm... maybe just one act with a pudgy bassist...

Fuzz and Marvin had always talked about having label aesthetics and all. I don't know anything about that but all I know is: so far all our acts and acts which are joining us are very much over-the-fucken-top. I hope that counts for something.

Shakira

According to Sujin, she has the worst lyrics ever... So I Googled it and he's right. Perhaps, I'm too fazed by the gyrating...

Lyrics to the hit 'Whenever, Whatever':

Lucky that my lips not only mumble
They spill kisses like a fountain
Lucky that my breasts are small and humble
So you don't confuse them with mountains
Lucky I have strong legs like my mother
To run for cover when I need it
And these two eyes that for no other
The day you leave will cry a river

Seriously... I'm not shitting you...

Some guys just know how to handle their balls better. Here's the sequel.

We came down from the North indeed!

Just finished a very tiring weekend where I was out every day for the last 2 weeks for work and classes. We had a couple of friends coming down playing for us at the Esplanade over the weekend.

It was pretty cool. The Tempered Mental guys came down to play the show and drove back right up after the show. Hardcore. Hope they didn't get another urine check on the way back. Heh. The last minute replacement Evol was pretty good, playing very funk/ soul pop tunes.

Finally got to meet the Lurks guys in person on Saturday. I thought their electronic stuff were more fun and better than the rock tunes. Adlin and his boys (and girl) came down and did their thing. Without a doubt, Matt also known as Jessica was hilarious as usual. He placed his pink Barbie bag right in front of his fold-back monitor. Gotta love the guy for his taste. The guys caught a mid-night coach back to KL so it was a very rushed trip for them.

Sen Kiat and his bitch/girlfriend/tour manager/roadie/groupie Ching stayed another night as his other band Superbar was slated to perform on Sunday. He's playing guitar for them as well. Singer Chak was being over the top as usual. Weiyuan got hand actions for one of their songs and got Ching to back him up. Quite disturbing. I thought Telebury played their best set ever. Great tunes and an amazing set.

Actually, I have always thought the difference between Malaysians and Singaporeans are very subtle. However, I reckon that Malaysians are warmer than Singaporeans in general. But it could be that since they are in Singapore, they are at our mercy and they need my help for directions! Hurhurhur...

Still, it was great hanging out with Superbar after their show. Had a couple of drinks and we brought them to have frog legs' porridge at the hawker centre opposite the National Library. Their drummer Dinesh thought it was alright. Yeah, it's nothing much. My only excuse is that I've not tried that stall before too. But at least, we have something they don't get in Kuala Lumpur. When Adlin and Kim are down on the 25th, I'd prolly take them to the one in Geylang. That's a better stall.

Well, I'd like to dedicate this ditty by Kuala Lumpur's Panda Head Curry: 'Singapore Belongs To Malaysia' (right click to save as here) to all my friends, whether they are Singaporean or Malaysian. Stay kewl and funkay always!!!

Travis - Closer

I never liked Travis at all. The 1st single of their new album The Boy With No Name is actually pretty good though, I must grudgingly admit.

Thirteen Senses - All The Love In Your Hands

I like their debut album quite a bit though it's basically your run-of-the-mill Britpop bands. Guitarist Tom Welham uses a lotta trippy, reversed-delayed guitar lines in his playing. That rocks.

Justice - D.A.N.C.E

From Grace.

Off her upcoming album.

COMMONTONES: Concert For Drifting Ghosts

Darren whom I've never met is not just a great customer of Yeeyong but a sound artist in his own right. He works under the moniker Sonicbrat and has been nominated for 2 DBS Life! Theatre awards for sound design.

Anyway, here's his latest project. It's pretty cool. I rikes...

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Three musicians... three individuals from different backgrounds, cultures and geographical locations...

They exist in different time and space but they share one common belief - to make music from their heart. This is where cultures, voices and minds concoct to serve only artistic expressions.

Welcome to COMMONTONES - Concert For Drifting Ghosts. In phase I of this project, the trio will be composing and improvising music or sounds on a daily basis so that there will be a new piece loaded up each day. There is no fixed theme or concept, only honesty, fun and explorations. This is a virtual space where all differences can co-exist, only to express what is in the heart using a common language - music and sounds. Phase I will last for the month of May 2007.

COMMONTONES is an online project helmed by Eric Saliege [France], Lorne David Thomson a.k.a. LDT [Bangkok Thailand] and Darren Ng a.k.a. Sonicbrat [Singapore].

For drifters on the net... to share our time, space and existence.

Rise... rise...

I've always found the comics Fantastic 4 incredibly boring. And like what Billy mentioned, it's too stuck in the 60's. However, the movie adaptation was pretty decent. Chris Evan and Michael Chiklis were very good in their roles and it featured Jessica Alba in spandex as well... The sequel is looking pretty decent. Check out the trailer here.

The Cardigans - Don't Blame Your Daughter (live)

One of my favourite bands. I like Nina Persson's solo album which she released 6 years ago though I never got around getting it. The b-side 'Charlie Charlie' is one of the most subliminally beautiful pop songs ever written.
